From A Proud Coyote
Fan
For the last
few years, we have been following our football team while they were wining
the majority of the games. However, our present team needs our support now
more than ever. I follow the Coyotes because I am proud that these young
men, first of all, do well academically, and then they are willing to do
their best on the football field to represent Alice. In the early 60s I
attended many, many games lost by the Coyotes. At that time I was always
hoping that we might win that Friday. However, now as an educator, I
consider these young students as my own. I now attend games to see young
men play their best while representing Alice. Not so much for a victory
(of course it would be nice) but just to show them that I am proud of
them. I know that it looks much easier from the stands. We can see who has
the ball and where the receivers are, but it’s totally different once
you’re on the field.
Professional team fumble, have
passes intercepted and lose games and they’re being PAID! So, people
should understand when high school players do these things. Another thing
to remember is the quality of teams we have played.
I
am very proud of the fact that other teams have respect for our Coyotes
even though we haven’t won a game yet. I have had a “gut” feeling
that our Coyotes are going to surprise many teams. So, young men, you do
your best on the field and we’ll do our best from the stands with the
leadership of our cheerleaders.
Thank
you for not giving up and continue to do your best. After all, life is
about doing your best and not giving up. And this is the ultimate
education with which we want students to leave school.
A very
proud fan,
Mr. Figueroa

Coyote fans giving thanks to the Alice
Coyotes for a good game on Friday
Mr. Brent - 11:32pm Nov 23, 2001 Central (#328)
Well, another season of Coyote Football came to a close tonight, with the
Coyotes losing their game 51 to 14. We didn't do as bad as the score seems, as
their linemen were big, and their backs were quick. Our guys did what they
could, and we are proud of them. It's always tough on the seniors losing the
last game, but it is kind of a right of passage. The hurt will pass, and the
pain will heal, but the Coyote heart and spirit will be there always. Good job
guys, we will remember you. Thank you for spending all those days at practice,
even when you didn't think you could make it anymore. Thank you for going over
all those plays again and again and again. Thank you for practicing and playing
in the heat, in the cold, and in the rain. Thank you for being Coyotes.

Well, guys I am sorry that it had to end... it was a great season with many
surprises... last night after the game the walk back to the band hall seemed so
long for me as I walked by a bunch of great guys who were saddened to the
core...I tried to console a few but then realized there was nothing I could say
that would take that hurt away... you guys were great in every sense of the
word... you had to give up your holidays and practice you had to go out there
and go up against some big guys and no matter if you were 5 foot or 12 feet you
still acted like you could smash them into the ground... I had a wonderful time
going to all the games this year and I too came home last night and went to bed
crying.... it will be a long night this Friday but I know you all will get thru
it because you guys are some very strong people emotionally and physically...
and I just want to leave this thought with you.... remember how it felt to come
into the stadium and see the stands filled with orange ppl... ppl that were
there to cheer you on.... some who love you personally and some who love the
coyote football experience... but either way.... they were there for you... and
they still are.... Love ya guys
